Vice President, Structured Finance

Metrus’ market-leading Energy as a Service (EaaS) structure enables enterprises to finance on-site energy and sustainability projects that result in the outcomes of decarbonization, increased resilience and cost savings.
As Vice President, Structured Finance you will be a member of the Metrus senior leadership team and responsible for the development and implementation of innovative Energy as a Service (EaaS) financing structures that catalyze the growth and drive the profitability of Metrus’ sustainable energy financing platform. You will quickly take on a diverse set of strategic and operational roles, including making direct contributions to deal closings, pricing & credit decisions, financing structures, and contract negotiations. Growing lender relationships as well as developing the financial elements of programs with our ESCO partners will be key areas of focus. You will also play a leading role in helping Metrus expand into new markets and explore new financing structures. To succeed in your role, you will be a strong collaborator who has the drive and creativity to set up new EaaS financing structures.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Identifying and implementing innovative financing structures, products and programs to scale Metrus’ EaaS platform into new markets and technologies
- Negotiating and closing structured finance deals and arranging third-party financing that spur Metrus’ investments in sustainable energy projects
- Create and manage new EaaS financing programs and products that support Metrus’ ESCO partners
- Actively support sales pursuits, including participation in customer and partner meetings and presentations throughout the sales lifecycle
- Owning and managing project-level cash flow models
- Set project-level pricing to balance maximizing profit and competitiveness
- Leverage lending partnerships to generate business development opportunities
- Direct management of others in Structured Finance roles
Skills
- Strong project finance experience, with experience in renewable energy a plus
- Track record of negotiating and closing structured finance deals and arranging third-party financing, ideally within the clean energy investment community
- Strong attention to detail and ability to own, build, and manage project financial models and excellent excel modeling skills required
- Strategic and creative thinking abilities, which will bring insight, innovation, and urgency to development of new (and improving existing) EaaS financing solutions
Experience
- Industry Expertise: 10+ years in project finance within the energy efficiency or clean energy sector, with an aptitude for project development.
- Commercial Leadership: Strategic and creative thinker who can assess and understand the economic, operational, and environmental benefits of Metrus’ EaaS projects. Ability to succinctly explain the value proposition of Metrus’ EaaS solution to a wide range of customer stakeholders and ESCO partners.
- Complex Negotiations: Highly organized with a proven ability in negotiating intricate legal structures, managing deadlines and tasks, and facilitating complex sustainable project financings.
- Market/Product Knowledge: Deep understanding of energy efficiency and clean energy markets, programs, and policies. Detail-oriented in the presentation of project cash flows and the financial modeling of investments.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience in a relevant field. Experience in third-party project development, EaaS, and clean energy deals is a plus.

Salary Range and Benefits
$210,000-$230,000 base salary only. Salary dependent and commensurate with experience and location. Supplemental pay types can include Bonus pay and Commission pay. Benefits include employer paid medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long term disability insurance, stock option grants, 401k plan, commuter benefits, flexible paid time-off, and paid sick leave.
