Metrus Energy was proud to receive an award for Finance Innovation from the Dept. of Energy for its work with Amazon, which generated $15 million in savings with no upfront costs through Energy as a Service. The project used a blended utility rate by combining sites in different states with a mix of higher and lower levels of economic and operational benefits, enabling Metrus to maximize emissions reductions and project scope while minimizing costs.
The award was presented to Metrus CEO Bob Hinkle at the 2025 Better Buildings, Better Plants Summit on May 1. Read the project case study.
