Press Release

San Francisco -- Metrus Energy, a leader in Energy as a Service (EaaS), released its sixth annual Impact Report today. The 2025 Impact Report provides financial and environmental data from 2025 that quantifies the impact of the company's EaaS projects.

Metrus' customer projects span 34 states and encompass more than 940 sites. These projects, featuring 30 different energy efficiency measures and technologies, achieved a total CO2 savings of 40,230 metric tons in 2025. Over its 17 years in business, Metrus has achieved lifetime CO2 savings of 819,210 metric tons—equivalent to removing 28,447 cars from the road.

Collectively, Metrus customers saved 117,756,134 kWh of electricity, 262,506 therms of natural gas, 73,799 barrels of oil, 428,035 MMBtu of energy, and 77,434,253 gallons of water—the equivalent of the annual water consumption of 2,587 Americans.

Metrus continued its commitment to reducing atmospheric pollutants in 2025, achieving reductions of 18 metric tons of sulfur oxides and 27 metric tons of nitrogen oxides.

Metrus publishes its annual Impact Report to emphasize the importance of climate-related data in helping organizations achieve their sustainability goals and improve their financial strength, operational resilience, and economic competitiveness, and the health and productivity of workers, students, and patients.

"Seventeen years ago, we introduced a groundbreaking finance solution that funds 100% of the upfront cost of upgrades, enabling organizations to reap the immediate benefits of state-of-the-art equipment instead of deferring these investments and escalating the costs and risks of inaction," stated Bob Hinkle, CEO of Metrus Energy. "We remain steadfast in our mission to accelerate the transition to a sustainable, low-carbon energy future and believe that transparency and accountability are vital in promoting continued progress."
