Metrus Energy has joined a global coalition of more than 170 organizations in signing the first-ever Global Pledge for Healthy Indoor Air. The pledge, launched at a United Nations Side Event in September, is the first international effort to formally recognize clean indoor air as a basic human right essential to health and well-being.
"Given that we spend 90% of our time indoors, indoor air quality has widespread impacts on everything from public health and chronic disease to worker productivity and student learning," said Metrus Energy CEO Bob Hinkle. "Metrus is proud to sign the pledge to demonstrate our belief that clean and healthy indoor air shouldn't be a luxury. Our Energy as a Service model is one solution that can help hospitals, schools, and businesses across the world tackle this important issue.
Signers to the pledge embrace the goals of improving indoor air quality and promise to "collaborate across sectors and borders; share successes and challenges; educate and empower the public; introduce new stakeholders"; and reconvene to share progress towards healthier indoor air.
